STRATHAM, NH -- Potential Unlimited Publishing (PUP) Foundation is a non-profit publishing company founded in January 1994 by three mothers of children with special needs attempting to facilitate the often difficult process through which their children were included in school, society, and peer relationships. PUP is currently focusing its efforts on producing and distributing literature designed to support the social and educational needs of children with autism and their families. PUP is "Dedicated to the belief that EVERYONE needs friends."

PUP currently offers two books on autism: Captain Tommy and Crossing Bridges.

Captain Tommy is a 32-page, hardcover, full-color children's book designed to teach typically-developing peers how to befriend a child with autism. Written by Abby Ward Messner, the parent of a 10-year old boy with autism. Illustrated by Kim Belliveau. Captain Tommy retails for $14.95 plus $3.00 shipping. A GREAT WAY TO INTRODUCE A CHILD'S SPECIAL NEEDS TO SIBLINGS, CLASSMATES, AND NEIGHBORS!

Crossing Bridges is a 64-page, softcover booklet designed to support parents whose children recently received an autism/PDD diagnosis. Crossing Bridges is also very useful to extended family members, teachers/aides, therapists--anyone with a desire to learn more about autism. Crossing Bridges was written by three parents of children with autism: Viki Satkiewicz-Gayhardt, Barbara Peerenboom, and Roxanne Campbell, R.N. Illustrations by Kim Belliveau.
